Overview
Bermuda's Digital Asset Business Act (DABA), enacted in 2018, established one of the earliest comprehensive regimes, licensing digital-asset businesses in classes under the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), alongside a separate initial-coin-offering framework.
Regulatory framework
DABA licenses digital-asset businesses (Class F full and Class M modified/test licences); the BMA also supervises stablecoin and custody activity.
Licensing & authorisation
Digital-asset businesses obtain a DABA licence class from the BMA.
AML & Travel Rule
AML/CFT obligations and a Travel Rule apply to licensees.
