AMERICAS · JURISDICTION PROFILE
Argentina
Overview
Argentina's Law 27,739 (2024) brought virtual-asset service providers into the AML perimeter and created a mandatory registry at the securities commission (CNV). CNV General Resolution 994/2024 launched registration and RG 1058/2025 added custody, governance, cybersecurity and reporting requirements.
Regulatory framework
Providers of exchange, transfer, custody and related services must register with the CNV, which supervises and can sanction them; smaller providers below an activity threshold are exempt.
Licensing & authorisation
Local and foreign covered providers must join the CNV PSAV registry before operating.
AML & Travel Rule
VASPs are AML-obligated subjects; originator/beneficiary information requirements apply to transfers.
